Vegas Baby

We decided to go to Vegas for Dave’s 30th birthday and conference weekend.  My sister Kristin and her family live there now, so we went and stayed with them.

It had almost been a year for Dave since he had been back.  He absolutely loved living in Vegas and said it felt like he was home again.  I didn’t hate Vegas, but I didn’t love it as much as he does.

The whole weekend basically turned into a eating fest.  Dave had a whole list of places to eat while we were there!

The first night we ate at the Rio seafood buffet.  This is a favorite for both of us.  We took Kristin, Jared, and Luke along too and I think they enjoyed it just as much!  We even were able to get the “locals” discount.  Dave and I still have our nevada driver’s licenses.  Hehe.

The next day, Dave and I met up with our really good friends Riley, and Diana and their two kids.  We went and ate at Cici’s pizza.  We always use to go their with them when we lived in Vegas.  It is cheap and pretty ok, mostly the company is better than the food, but we enjoy it!

On Saturday it was Dave’s 30th birthday!  Dave and I went to our favorite Vegas sushi spot.  Yama sushi!  Yum!  That night was priesthood session, so Jared, Dave and my dad (my mom and dad came down too) headed to have some spiritual food.  Then we all went out when they got home.  Dave chose a place called Hash House A Go Go-it had been featured on Man Vs. Food and of course Dave had to try it.  The portions were HUGE, and it wasn’t that great, but we enjoyed ourselves.

When we got back from dinner, (not that anyone was hungry), I had set up some dessert for Dave’s birthday.  There is a really good place called Nothing Bundt Cakes that I stopped at and got a variety of small cakes for everyone to share.  We sang to Dave and then watched a movie together.

Conference was much enjoyed.  However, I am excited to get the ensign to read because London had a rough weekend.  Come to find out, she had an ear infection, poor girl!  We ended up finally switching her to a forward facing carseat for the ride home, hoping things would be better.  She did to a little better, but it was her ear that was making it hard.  She was a little trooper though.  Now we just need to get her and her cousin Luke playing better with each other.  They act like brother and sister, and know how to irritate each other!!

All in all it was a very fun and much needed trip!  Happy 30th Dave!  We love you!
